Despite being one of the oldest blender makers in the world, Vitamix still shows no signs of slowing down. One of their models, the 5200, is even reported to be one of the best-  selling blenders on the market. As if not satisfied, they launched another great one, the 7500 model. Apart from filling in its latest G-
 

Series product line, this latest model is also said to have the intention of taking Vitamix's flagship mantle. But is the 7500 capable enough to assume that position? Let's compare and see the winner of Vitamix 7500 vs 5200!

 

Motors
Vitamix hasn't made any changes to the 5200 motor for decades. That is quite reasonable, considering the 2.0 horsepower motor has been operating well. If there’s any, the drawback of this motor is that it gets hot easily when used for an extended amount of time. It also would bind for a few seconds when filled with a lot of dry ingredients.
 

As an improvement, Vitamix decided to plant a new motor in its latest series, the G-Series. This new motor gets a power upgrade to 2.2 horsepower, which makes it easier to cut various types of ingredients. Apart from that, the new motor is also equipped with a cooling fan, which lessens the risk of overheat when operating for a long period of time.

 
Blades
 
Both 7500 and 5200’s blades are made from laser-cut stainless steel. What differentiates them is their respective size. 5200’s blades are three inches wide and positioned at a slightly higher angle. This adjustment is due to the room limitation by the smaller width pitcher.
 

In the 7500 blenders, the slightly lower positioned blade is longer by an inch. There’s also more pitcher room than its counterpart. However, the difference in blade sizes doesn’t seem to leave a visible gap in performance.

 

Noise Levels

The 7500 has noise- dampening insulation in its base station and motor housing. It’s claimed to be able to reduce noise levels by up to 40% when the blender is operating.

In practice, the 7500’s noise is still very likely to annoy you. But when compared with the noise dampening-less 5200, you’ll notice how quiet 7500 is.

 

Pitchers
The 5200 is noticeably the taller of the two. When the model’s tall and slender pitcher is attached to the base and with the lid on, it stands at 20.5 inches tall. This may lead to difficulty in finding a storage space that capable of accommodating the blender.
 

On the other hand, 7500 adopted a much more compact design. It’s only wider by an inch, but shorter by over three inches. When assembled, the G-Series blender only stands at 17.25 inches tall.

 

Controls
Both 7500 and 5200 comes with variable speed control as a standard, which allows you to choose 10 different speed options. In addition to that, you’ll also have toggle switches on both the right and left sides of the blenders.
 

However, Vitamix 7500 exclusively provides a pulse function on the left toggle switch. To use these kinds of functions on the 5200, you’ll need to turn on the turn on/off button; which is more troublesome.

 

Price

It is not surprising to see the 'Next Big Thing' offering better features than the 'Golden Boy'. However, this advantage is accompanied by a higher price. More or less, there’s a $100 price gap between 7500 and 5200. Whether it’s worthy or not, feel free to compare and pick the one that suits you the most.
